I'M NOT SURPRISED ANYMORE....

It's called a "pretrial diversion program"???

For those of you who don't know what the heck this program is....here is a definition:

"Pretrial Diversion was developed to intervene with adult first-time felony offenders in an effort to stop detrimental behavior and thus reduce the likelihood of further offenses. Defense attorneys for these first-time felony offenders request diversion through the Prosecutor's Office. If determined appropriate for the program by a diversion counselor, the offender will enter the Pretrial Diversion Program and begin working with a diversion counselor to identify and overcome behaviors that led to their first offense. Clients work with a counselor from six months to a year. If successful in completing agreed upon goals and finishing restitution payments, the client will have a hearing where, in most cases, the charges are dismissed upon successful completion of the program."

This is the definition I located on-line.  If you are wondering why I have supplied you with this information it's because this is the "sentencing" for Michael Paul Astorga's (accused killer of Deputy McGrane) wife, Marcella Poolaw Astorga, for providing false information to the FBI, in order to hide her husband, when they were trying to locate him (Michael Paul Astorga), after he "allegedly" killed Deputy McGrane.

Meanwhile, we have attorney Mitchell who is still fighting the issue of the death penalty.  Get over it Mitchell.  This isn't going to get you the big name business you are trying for.  No, this isn't the case.  When you stop and look at what you are defending in court and quit looking to make a name for yourself, you might see how ridiculous you look.  Unbelieveable!

When does the court system say enough is enough?  This is the law in New Mexico!  Are the lawmakers in New Mexico really going to change this law before trial???  Really?  If we have the ability to do that, then I have a few laws I would like to change too!  How about the one for Michael Paul Astorga's wife ???  Let's start there!

Also, as a follow-up to my previous blog in regards to Mitchell (again!) trying to get Michael Paul Astorga who is being held at Level 6, in the correctional facility,  better food since Astorga claims it is substandard.  A special "Thanks" to Joe Williams, who runs the state Department of Corrections.  He verified that the accusations of poor food  Michael Astorga was complaining about is false.  Here is his quote:

"...we feed people three squares a day," he says. "But they (inmates at Level 6) are there for reasons. That's where the most violent and dangerous people are."

The Pretrial Diversion Program is just fine and dandy for those first time felons as stated in the blog, however lets all remember, Michael Paul Astorga is NOT a first time felon.
